Introduction
Some women lack confidence because of their breast size or the sagging effect of age. A breast enhancement will improve the shape and size of your breasts, thereby improving you body proportion so you can fit into your clothes more easily. It can also help to build confidence in various aspects of your life.
Procedure
Breast enlargement/augmentation involves surgically inserting an implant behind the natural breast tissue to increase the size of your breasts. The procedure takes approximately 1 to 2 hours and usually requires an overnight stay in hospital.
Recovery
All breast
augmentation patients experience a level of discomfort,
the duration of which depends on the size of the implant;
this generally settles within the first ten days or so. Full
recovery usual takes a few months, but non-strenuous activity
such as office work and gentle exercise can usually be resumed
after about two weeks.
It's important to remember that the final
results of your augmentation will not be apparent until days
or even weeks after the procedure as it takes time for your
new breasts to assume their natural shape. During this time
you will have post operative checks to ensure that everything
is settling normally and also to answer any questions that
you have.

Is this right for me?
Candidates should be of a healthy frame of mind and to have realistic expectations when having breast augmentation. Your consultant will take these issues into account when considering your suitability for the operation.
Things to consider
It is important that you carefully consider any cosmetic surgery procedure. Your surgeon will be pleased to answer any questions during your consultation and leading up to the procedure. Candidates should ensure that they have adequate time and space to recover from the operation.
Your surgeon will advise you as to the
most suitable type of implant, size, shape and placement to
suit you, which will ensure a natural result. During you consultation
your consultant will listen to your expectation of breast
enhancement surgery and from there you and he will discuss
what result is possible for you, this will ensure that you
have realistic view of the surgery and therefore know what
to expect post operatively.
What are the risks?
As with all surgery there are some risks
to consider. When your surgeon has looked through your medical
history he will explain all risks that are relevant to you.
It is important to understand all aspects of the surgery before
proceeding, this ensures that you are considering surgery
and agreeing to it with full and informed consent.

Testimonials
"I decided to have a breast augmentation and after researching on the internet I decided I would go to River Medical for a consultation as everything on the website looked fantastic. I met Dr. Labros who was extremely professional. He talked me through my options and all the risks and advised me to take time to make my decision. After getting my appointment for surgery I arrived to the hospital on the day of my surgery and was met by very professional and friendly staff. I also met with Dr. Labros again who advised me further about the surgery. I had surgery around 10am and was back out of theatre in about an hour feeling and looking great. My post op check was one week after the surgery where a nurse at River Medical removed my plasters and was extremely nice and gentle. The Augmentation was so natural looking. I would highly recommend River Medical if only for the friendliness of the staff"
