Introduction
Prominent ears are a feature that troubles many people, making them self-conscious and affecting their confidence. Ear Reshaping is a quick and highly successful procedure that leaves virtually no trace, other than your new attractive new ears of course!
Procedure
The ear is reshaped by removing skin and reshaping the cartilage behind the ears. The ears are then stitched into the new position with the incision marks cleverly concealed in the natural crease behind the ear. Ear Reshaping is a day case procedure and normally takes 2 hours to complete.
Recovery
There will be a degree of soreness of the head and ears for a few days after the operation and you can return to work after about five days.
Post-Operative Care
River Medical offer post-operative support to all our patients, and you will be advised of the actions you can take to relieve any discomfort. A heavy bandage is worn for a week following the operation, followed by a headband-type lighter bandage that is worn for approximately two weeks. Contact sports are to be avoided for at least a month.
