What is Liposuction?
Liposuction is one of the most popular procedures here at River Medical. Our Consultant Plastic Surgeon has performed over 3000 liposuction procedures. It is used to remove unwanted fat in targeted areas of the body.
Liposuction is particularity effective for people who have stubborn areas of fat that have not responded to diet and exercise. These stubborn deposits of fat usually live in the deepest layer of our skin and liposuction is one of the only procedures that targets and removes them effectively.
Liposuction not only removes excess fat is also improves the shape of your body and texture of your skin and body by smoothing out bulges and bumps.
Through tiny incisions in the skin a hollow tube, or cannula, is inserted and the fat is broken down with fluid before being removed by a syringe or vacuum pump.
