Brow Lift for Women

Brow Lift for Women

What is Brow Lift Surgery?

A Brow Lift is a very effect way to rejuvenate your entire face. It lifts sagging brows, deep furrows between the eyes and etched lines across the forehead. By tightening the skin, Brow Lifts reduce wrinkles and give a smoother appearance.

The brow lift (or forehead lift) is a procedure which will raise your eyebrows to a higher and more aesthetically pleasing position and also improve the appearance of lateral hoods, which are the droopy flaps of skin that hang over the outside corner of your eyes. With this procedure you will also see a softening of horizontal forehead wrinkles and the frown lines between your eyebrows.

The Procedure

There are two types of Brow Lift Surgery for women: an Open Brow Lift and an Endoscopic Brow Lift.

Open Brow Lift involves one continuous incision, beginning at the level of your ears and going up around your hair line. Depending on where your hair line is, the surgeon will move the incision line to avoid a visible scar.

Endoscopic Brow Lift is a more advanced procedure and involves the use of a tiny camera to locate the imperfections, and smaller incisions to make the necessary alterations.

What results can I expect?

  • Reduces wrinkles around brow area

  • Lifts the hooding/sagging skin above the eyes

  • A brighter, fresher appearance created

What is the recovery time like?

A brow lift usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours and will require an overnight stay in hospital. You will need to take between 7 to 10 days off work to recover; the exact time will depend on the extent of the surgery.

You can experience some swelling and bruising around the cheeks, eyes and forehead which should subside after 1 week. You may have discomfort or itching or numbness after the procedure, your aftercare will be managed with the support of your Consultant Plastic Surgeon and River Medical Registered General Nurse to ensure you the safest and most comfortable recovery.

How should I prepare for my procedure?

There are a few elements to this: preparation will begin with your initial consultation with our Consultant Plastic Surgeon, you will also meet with one of our Registered General Nurses. They will both go through every aspect of the surgery and your recovery with you.

You will come in once more before your surgery to have a further comprehensive pre-operative assessment with your River Medical Registered General Nurse.

The Consultant Plastic Surgeon will be available to you right up until your surgery should you wish to see him again.

Why do you not have before and after pictures on the website?

Before and after pictures on websites can be misleading as they may not be patients of the surgeon who will be doing your Brow Lift.

As every person wanting a Brow Lift has completely different expectations, it is a much more valuable tool for your Consultant Plastic Surgeon to show pictures of not only Brow Lifts that he as actually done but also show you results you will be likely to receive.
