Dr Labros Chatzis

Mr Labros Chatzis, MD, PhD, B Plast - Consultant Plastic Surgeon River Medical
Mr Labros Chatzis is the Medical Director at River Medical.
Mr Labros Chatzis is fully certified and is on the Specialist Register in Ireland and the UK. Furthermore, he is the only surgeon to hold a PhD in plastic surgery in Ireland.
Born in Athens, Greece and schooled in the UK, France and Canada. Mr. Chatzis completed his General Surgery training at the National Capodistrian University of Athens before carrying out Plastic Surgery training in a number of NHS units in the UK. He held formal training posts between 1988 and 1993 at the Plastic Surgery Departments of the following Major NHS Hospitals in the UK:
- Frenchay Hospital, Bristol
- Dundee Royal Infirmary
- Shotley Bridge Hospital, Durham
- Hull Royal Infirmary, Kingston-upon-Hull
Mr Chatzis qualified as a Plastic Surgeon and joined the Board of Plastic Surgeon in 1993.
Prior to joining River Medical, Mr. Chatzis spent eight years as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Clane General Hospital in Co. Kildare and in Cambridge, UK. For the previous seven years he was a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with a special interest in Breast Reconstruction and Head and Neck Cancer. During this period, he worked at Stamford General Hospital in London, Cambridge Private Hospital in Cambridge and in Athens. He also held rooms at Cambridge, Harley Street in London and Ireland.
Mr. Labros Chatzis is now a permanent resident in Ireland and he only operates in major private general hospitals. His ambition is for River Medical to become the leading Cosmetic Surgery clinic in Ireland offering the state of the art treatments under a very strict medical ethos.
Since qualifying, Mr Chatzis has conducted approximately 7,000 cosmetic surgical procedures including:
- 3,500 breast surgical procedures (augmentations, reductions, uplifts)
- 2,000 body contouring surgeries (liposuctions and abdominoplasties)
- 1,000 facial procedures (rhinoplasties, blepharoplasties, laser treatments)
- 500 skin cancer procedures
Mr Chatzis's main interests are cosmetic surgery of the body and breast for both men and women. He is a specialist in advanced breast surgery, liposuction, abdominoplasty, thigh and arm lifts. He is also highly-experienced in non-surgical procedures such as:
- The treatment of facial wrinkles with injectables
- Facial rejuvenation
- The treatment of pigmented and vascular lesions with LASER and IPL machines
- The use of peels and the treatment of cellulite and scars
Mr Chatzis is a world authority on breast asymmetry and has been a member of the Academic Faculty on numerous International Symposia. He is also the author of a series of scientific papers published in Academic Journals. He was previously a trainer of Surgical Fellows on the three-year rotation approved training scheme leading to Board exams in Cosmetic Surgery.
In 2009 Mr Chatzis was invited by the National Surgical Training Centre to lecture and since then he has been teaching young surgeon operative surgical skills as part of their formal postgraduate surgical education.
Aisling Cleary
Clinic Manager
Aisling is a Registered nurse, with specialist knowledge and qualifications in non-surgical treatments, skincare, LASER systems and Dermal Fillers.
Prior to joining the River Medical team, Aisling resided in Chicago for almost a decade. During her time there she qualified as an Aesthetician with the Aveda Institute. The knowledge she gained through these studies ensures that Aisling is able to treat many different skin types and problems.
Aislings passion is for skin. She enjoys treating aging skin, sun damaged skin, and acne patients are also of great interest to her. She tailors the treatment to ensure it is just right for them; therefore, the best possible results can be achieved.
Since joining River Medical, Aisling has taken advanced training in LASER, IPL and cosmoceuticals.
Aisling brings a wealth of experience and clinical know how to the role of River Medical Clinic Manager.
Carmel Hickey
Patient Liaison Officer
Carmel has worked for many years in the healthcare industry in various administrative roles, marketing and patient liaising roles.
She obtained her degree in Marketing at DIT in 2006. Carmel is now a valued asset to the River Medical team.
As receptionist, she is often the first port of call for patients attending consultations or treatments and is able to offer information on surgical and non-surgical procedures offered by River Medical, as well as carrying out administrative duties.
Sophie Martin
RGN
Sophie is a fully qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN).
Sophie joined the River Medical team having worked on London’s Harley Street as Lead Clinical Nurse. Sophie's area of expertise is in dermal fillers , laser and peel treatments.
Sophie has a wealth of experience treating both surgical and non-surgical cosmetic patients .
Aoife Murphy
Patient Liaison Officer
Aoife is a graduate of The Marketing Institute of Ireland.
She is River Medical’s Patient Liaison Manager and is an integral part of the team.

Audrey Doyle
RGN
Audrey Doyle is a Registered General Nurse, she gained her honours degree in nursing through Trinity College Dublin and Tallaght Hospital, Dublin. Audrey has worked in a private hospital in Dublin and has also worked in Australia, gaining vast surgical and post operative nursing skills.
Sarah Fox
Patient Liaison Officer
Sarah has worked in the beauty industry for over ten years. Having achieved an honours degree in Marketing she went on to gain qualifications as a Beauty Therapist with Ciate. Sarah quickly moved up the ranks from Therapist to Salon Manager to Educator and then Brand Manager.
Sarah joined River Medical in 2011 as a Patient Liaison Officer, her ten years expierience and excellent customer service skills have been a real assets to our team.
Rebecca O'Riordan
RGN
Rebecca qulaified in Nursing in 2008. Since qualifying Rebecca has worked in both General and Private sectors. She has always had a keen interest in Aesthetic nursing. Rebecca’s area of expertise is in non-surgical cosmetic treatments having gained certification in numerous specialty treatments. Before joining River Medical Rebecca worked in a busy Cosmetic Clinic in Limerick.
Lauren Buckley
Patient Liaison Officer
Lauren is currently studying for a degree in Education and Training with Dublin City University, she hopes to achieve a H.Dip in Primary School Teaching.
Lauren joined River Medical in 2010 as a part time Patient Liaison Officer. Lauren has a bright future ahead and we are lucky to have her on our team.
